The action takes place on a map of Ankh-Morpork, with players trying to place minions and buildings through card play. Each of the 132 cards is unique, and says Wallace, "The cards bring the game to life as they include most of the famous characters that have appeared in the various books. The rules are relatively simple: Play a card and do what it says. Most cards have more than one action on them, and you can choose to do some or all of these actions. Some cards also allow you to play a second card, so you can chain actions."
A team of artists will recreate the city and its residents for the cards, game board and box, with Bernard Pearson coordinating that team. Ankh-Morpork has been sublicensed to Mayfair Games for the North American market and Kosmos for the German market.

Ankh Morpork Collectors EditionTreefrog will be releasing a collector’s edition of the Ankh-Morpork game. This will only be available directly from Treefrog, either via the website or at the shows we attend.
As well as having a different box cover, a larger map, and a poster with artwork from the game, the collector’s edition will also avoid the use of the number eight (for reasons that should be well known to those versed in Discworld lore). It’s not a big change, but it does mean the production of a special 12 sided die and the separate printing of the cards just to make sure the one with 8 on it has 7a instead (Treefrog will go to any lengths for thematic accuracy!). The larger board is intended to allow players to upgrade their set by the addition of resin playing pieces, as well as helping those with poor eyesight and stubby fingers.
If you wish to make sure you get a copy of the collector’s edition then send us your email address, via the space below. Treefrog will then email you one week before the game becomes available to pre-order. You then have that amount of time to decide whether you wish to pre-order the game. At the moment it looks as if the UK price will be £40, the European price will be 45 Euros, and the Rest of the World price will be US$60. These prices do not include p&p, which has to be computed based on the weight of the game. Please note that your email address will only be used to notify you about the game, it will not be passed onto third parties.
There will also be a deluxe edition of the game. This will have resin pieces instead of wooden ones. Once the pieces have been sculpted pictures will be posted here. At this point in time it is not possible to predict how much this version will cost. You will be given the opportunity to pre-order the deluxe edition at the same time that the collector’s edition is available
